The National Museum of Ethnography and Prehistory “L. Pigorini” has invited H. H. Lim to participate in the three-month Artist Residency Programme “Outside In – Illuminating Guests” in early 2016.
H. H. Lim will be investigating the museum's Asiatic collections, with particular regard to the Indonesian and Malaysian collections, interacting with the museum staff on the theme of “The making of point of views”.
During the three-month residency, H. H. Lim, museum curators and audiences will be involved in exchanges and reflections on alternative and experimental ways of interpreting and displaying ethnographic objects.
The residency at the Museum of Ethnography is part of SWICH - Sharing a World of Inclusion, Creativity and Heritage - a collaborative project involving ten European museums of Ethnography and World Cultures, with the aim of creating dialogues on citizenship and belonging in contemporary Europe.
H.H. Lim was born in Malaysia in 1954. He graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and has since lived and worked in Rome and Penang. He founded Edicola Notte, an exhibiting space located in Trastevere, Rome.
