Miguel Palma developed an installation was on display from July 5th until November 2nd 2016 in an old chapel located at the fort St Jean of the MuCEM, Marseille (FR). The work is a metaphor about the passing of time, questioning our collective memory and our cultural references.
The installation consists of five discs turning around: one for Greek time, the second for Roman time, the third for medieval time, the fourth for modern time and the fifth for present time.
During his residency, the artist also worked with teachers from a graduate school in the district of la Belle mai in Marseille.

Miguel Palma lives and works in Lisbon. Since 2007 he has been in artist in residence in several different countries, a.o. the US and France. Palma's work frequently deals with questions of technological development, ecology, the belief in images, the idea of power, the infant-juvenile world or the obsession for the machine. His art unfolds into drawing, sculpture, multimedia installation, video, artist books and performance.
