Exhibition

Rêvons la ville

Temporary exhibition at Centre de conservation et de ressources CCR (collection storage) of Mucem, Marseille. Opening: April 6, 2017

Organized by Mucem (Musée des Civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée) with the participation of a class from the secondary school in the framework of SWICH project.

Since its opening, the CCR has created 'laboratory' exhibitions, organized by an external curator invited to give another perspective on collections. In April 2017 for the first time, a class from secondary school Versailles in the Belle de Mai district took this role.

For the project, the students were supervised by the teaching team (history-geography, French and arts) and the audience department at Mucem.

The principle of “Rêvons la ville” is to show, throughout the students' project, curatorial challenges; from the creation of the itinerary, to the choice of objects and realization of the scenography; as a work-in-progress, culminating in an exhibition proposing a new narrative of Mucem collections, around the theme of “The City” and open to the general public. The inhabitants of the Belle de Mai district were requested to expand co-construction in a second phase.
