H.H. Lim

Museo delle Civiltà – Museo Preistorico Etnografico “L. Pigorini” invited H. H. Lim to be artist in residence at the museum.


H. H. Lim investigated the museum's Asiatic collections, with particular regard to the Indonesian and Malaysian collections, interacting with the museum staff on the theme of “The making of point of views”.

During the residency, H. H. Lim, museum curators and audiences were involved in exchanges and reflections on alternative and experimental ways of interpreting and displaying ethnographic objects.

H.H. Lim was born in Malaysia in 1954. He graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and has since lived and worked in Rome and Penang. He founded Edicola Notte, an exhibiting space located in Trastevere, Rome.

The results of the residency were presented in the exhibition “The Making of a Point of View” which opened at Museo delle Civiltà – Museo Preistorico Etnografico “L. Pigorini” in 2018.
